Concert reviews

Trinity Methodist Church, Loughborough, 29th October 2011

There really was something for everyone in Saturday night's concert from Loughborough Concert Band under musical director Dave Coble. The small but appreciative audience was treated to music ranging from the fanfare of Concert Prelude to the tranquillity of Girl with the Flaxen Hair, from a medley of classic Hollywood tunes to Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. Highlights included 'I know him so well' from Chess with excellent solos from Steve Simpson on Euphonium and Kevin Massey on Trumpet and an accomplished French Horn duet in the Flower Duet from Lakme. American Trilogy made a rousing finale to the first of the band's three charity concerts over the winter period.
