Loughborough Concert Band

For this Christmas Concert at St Botolph’s Church Shepshed we were joined by the choir from St Botolph’s Primary School. The children were resplendent in Christmas jumpers, Santa hats and Rudolph noses and sang three songs, including Rock around the Shops which featured a lively hand jive. They also seemed to enjoy the Band’s programme as they jigged along to Stop the Cavalry and recognised and enjoyed the medley of tunes from Frozen. The children left at the interval and the rest of the programme continued with carols. Our indefatigable compere, Eddie Pearson kept the audience on their toes and encouraged them to sing out! The whole evening raised £360 for the church and £140 for the Shepshed Volunteer Centre. Plaudits for the evening included a personal message from Nicky Morgan MP who said she “thought the music was really lovely.” The band committee presented Dave Coble with a hamper and our thanks for his work for the band throughout the year. Dave gives a lot of time conducting and rehearsing us and arranging concerts, so thoroughly deserved the hamper.
